The picture here is taken at the first Mass at the current church building of Saint Mark, in July 1956. A lot has changed during those seven decades.
At Saint Mark we fully embrace the teachings of the 2nd Vatican Council. We try to walk the fine line between honoring the traditions from which we are coming, and the inculturation into a modern Westside LA community.
We practice the principle of "Progressive Solemnity," which means that the liturgical expressions become more elaborate the higher the rank of the celebration.
