When the pandemic closed church doors in 2020, Father Albert Van der Woerd began livestreaming Mass from the rectory on a simple laptop to keep the parish connected. With the help of St. Mark parents Donaldson and Charley Allen, those modest beginnings quickly grew—first to a tripod camera, then a three-camera setup with improved audio.
As services moved outdoors, students were invited to assist, and what began as a temporary solution became a ministry that continues today. Now known as St. Mark Lion TV, the program has grown into a full studio effort, producing weekly Masses and parish events that reach hundreds of viewers—locally and even internationally, including Father Albert’s native Netherlands.
Lion TV is more than a broadcast; it is a way for the parish to stay united, share faith, and extend St. Mark’s community beyond its walls.
